Welcome to the summit of the Massif Central! Puy de Sancy is THE boss of the Auvergne mountains, an ancient volcano that has traded eruptions for breathtaking views. The Sancy, a real rock!

Don't be fooled by its modest altitude, the Sancy has everything a big mountain has. With its Alpine mountain look, it commands respect. In winter, it becomes an adventure film set: snow cornices, frozen waterfalls, steep corridors and even a few avalanches (just to spice up the atmosphere)! In summer, it transforms into a mineral paradise with the appearance of a natural citadel. A real playground for hikers and lovers of stunning landscapes.

A volcano sculpted by time

The Puy de Sancy is a page of geological history in the open air. A former explosive volcano, it has been shaped by millennia of erosion. The result? A spectacular landscape where you can find rock formations worthy of a fantasy setting:
- The volcanic necks of the Chaudefour valley,
- The sharp dykes of the Aiguilles du Diable,
- The frozen flows that gave birth to the majestic waterfalls of Mont-Dore.

Winter? A huge natural snowpark!

When the snow falls, the Sancy becomes a huge snow sports area. Head to Super Besse or Le Mont-Dore for days of skiing on the slopes of the volcano! Accessible slopes, optimized snow cover (thanks to the 320 snow cannons!), night descents and freestyle areas... Everything is there to have fun.
